Anticipation for Africa

I figure I'll start the blog out with a little piece of inspiration - a small piece of a puzzle that will hopefully solve the question of "WHY?"

This is from Garrison Keillor's 'Writer's Almanac', something you'll see me pulling many quotes from.

"The truth is, I do indulge myself a little the more in pleasure, knowing that this is the proper age of my life to do it; and, out of my observation that most men that do thrive in the world do forget to take pleasure during the time that they are getting their estate, but reserve that till they have got one, and then it is too late for them to enjoy it." -- Samuel Pepys, one of the greatest diarists in the English language

I recently returned from a trip to Nepal, and my response to the endless string of "Why?" queries is the answer I gave myself when I too was questioning the trip.

If I never go, I’ll never know.

I'm a UGA alumna and excited about your African adventure as its the next destination on my travel list. Looking forward to reading about your Peace Corps stint. Best of luck!
